I’m one of two siblings, with great parents, who grew up around Greater Manchester (or as we still call it, Lancashire!).
Family wise, my parents are Mancunian and Salfordian, so down to earth types, who made sure their sons grew up grounded. We were also given remit to form our own ideas and personalities, we even debate views!
My family before us are mainly Celt, something I feel a strong connection to, and drives the work ethic we have. My two Nans were great, very different, but formed who I am.
I only grew up with one Grandad, the great Eric, who did the job of two without ever being asked, as my other Grandad, John, sadly passed of Motor Neurone Disease, before I had chance to know the great man the family talked of.
I also have a claim to fame, my Gt, Gt, Gt, Gt Uncle was one of the 600 who survived the Charge of the Light Brigade, James Ikin Nunnerley, he has a memorial in Ormskirk!
